The Slovenian national football team will play against the Faroe Islands, Estonia, Northern Ireland, Serbia and Italy in the qualifiers for the 2012 European Football Championships. This was determined a draw in Warsaw today.
Slovenia will play in group C, and qualifying matches will be played between 3 September 2010 and 11 October 2011.
Manager Matjaž Kek said that the group was difficult to assess, but that we shouldn’t underestimate Slovenia either.
Qualifying directly for the European Football Championships, to be played between 8 June and 1 July 2012, will be the winners of the nine groups and the best second-placed team. They will join hosts Poland and Ukraine.
Today's draw was carried out by Ukranian professional football striker Andriy Ševčenko.
